Betina Winkler

I grew up on a farm and I have studied veterinary medicine in Brazil. In Brazil and the UK I have worked with beef and dairy farming. This has led me to work in research studying management and health problems of dairy cattle and disease transmission between wildlife and cattle.

In 2024 I did a 1-year course in regenerative farming at the Apricot Centre in Devon. I work in the clinical laboratory of the vet department at the Donkey Sanctuary.

I am passionate about farming, wildlife and working in the community and have been/ still am involved in projects such as Stover Wildlife Watch Group, Vicary’s Field Community Garden, Transition Newton Abbot, Plastic Free Communities, Ogwild and Friends of the River Teign.

Being part of ACT has given me the opportunity to work with very dedicated and passionate people and contribute to so many projects that inspire and bring change to communities in Teignbridge and Devon.

I coordinate the 4F’s Group – Food, Farming, Forestry and Fisheries.
