Hello! I’m Vicky, the coordinator of the Wildlife Warden group, working alongside Audrey Compton, our ecology lead at ACT. The group was started in October 2020, and it’s grown into something really special — we now have over 150 amazing volunteers across Teignbridge, all doing fantastic work to help nature thrive in their local communities.
Live outside Teignbridge? Why not start your own Wildlife Warden scheme!
We’re excited to be able to support new groups get started so we’ve put together this helpful document with tips and advice, based on what we’ve learned so far. There are already Wildlife Warden groups in both Mid Devon and West Devon — but we’d love to see more popping up all over the country!
Many thanks to our funders – National Lottery Awards for All, Devon Environment Foundation, the Nineveh Trust, Cllr Jackie Hook (DCC Locality Fund), Dartmoor National Park Authority, Teign Energy Communities and all our individual donors.
We would also like to thank everyone who has supported our scheme in lots of other ways too; we couldn’t do it without you!
